Terry Marks fell into acting work by accident when her name was passed to a casting director in search of real female tattooists for a feature film in 2009, and became eligible to join the Screen Actors Guild on her first time out. With her tattooed arms and signature cat-eye glasses, she is often featured as oddball, quirky, and low-life characters.
Born and raised in New York City, Terry lived in London for nine years where she attended the Central/St. Martin's School of Art and worked as a bartender, pulling pints in Waterloo Station. She returned to NY to study painting at the New York Academy of Art, and became a licensed tattooist after apprenticing with Brooklyn artist Duke Riley. In addition to her appearances on film & tv, Terry is an internationally exhibited, award-winning painter & printmaker. She is also a dedicated practitioner of T'ai Chi Chuan; Yang style short form, hand & sword, studying with former cinematographer and sword-master Kenneth Van Sickle. |
