Only Murders in the Building, season 3 (multiple episodes)
John Hoffman, director (& others)
I got to share incredible sets with a beyond-my-wildest-dreams cast. . .

. . . AND I got my mug on the murder board as a suspect.

Did I mention MERYL STREEP was there...?!?!
Movie 43: Veronica
Griffin Dunne, director.
Filmed overnight in a supermarket in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, between the hours of 11PM and 8AM. I was in a tank top & those open freezer sections were pretty chilly.
Broad City, season 2 finale
Nick Jasenovec, director.
I got to bum a buck off Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson in my first speaking role on Comedy Central. The people and the weather were lovely, and I got to revisit my old haunts on St. Marks Place.
Rob the Mob
Raymond De Felitta, director.
As a result of much improvisation on this set, I was dubbed "Miss Pussy" by Griffin Dunne, and got an imdb credit with that character's name. (I'm pretty sure it was because I was carrying around a prop cat... right?)
Louie, season 2, episode 12
Louis C.K., director.
Filmed on location in Grand Central Station with a small, guerilla, indie-style production outfit. Louis had his hand in all aspects of the shoot, including selecting my fuzzy, pink bunny ears.
For a different episode in season 3, I was cast in the role of a homeless woman puking into a garbage can on the street. Sadly, the shoot date was rescheduled and I wound up not being available. That's showbiz.
Girls, season 2 episode 8
Jesse Peretz, director.
AA meeting scene, where I got to sit next to one of my heros, Carol Kane. Oh, and there was some guy who stood up and said, “my name is Adam and I’m an alcoholic, blah blah blah”. What was his name again? Oh yeah, Adam Driver.
The Other Guys
Adam McKay, director.
This was a fun scene to shoot. All the actors had to hold perfectly still while the camera moved on a track. All pieced together it showed the progression of a very drunken evening. Part 1.
The Other Guys
Adam McKay, director.
Part 2, the drunken mayhem progresses. No actual cash was burned or priests bitten in the making of this scene.
Law and Order, SVU
Helen Shaver, director.
Waiting for your scene to begin on an outdoor set dressed as a homeless person is interesting. On this particular day, at least one cop asked me to move along, which means I nailed the character look.
The Music Never Stopped
Jim Kohlberg, director.
Irony of ironies, I get to portray a reasonable facsimile of my former self from long ago and spend all day at a pretend Grateful Dead concert.
The Following, season 1, episodes 7–14
Joshua Butler, director.
In the core cast of cult members following a charismatic serial killer played by James Purefoy, who was the nicest guy. Shot on location in a fancy mansion in Oyster Bay, Long Island, it was like a 4H-club of city kids getting shipped out for a day in the country. On the second day we hit a giant blizzard.
Huxtable Gets Wood
Ben Perry, director.
A stretch of my “acting” skills as a high school stoner. In the next moment the blonde guy pulls a live chicken out of his bag. The chicken's name was Sonja Henny, and was very friendly. No chickens were harmed in the making of this movie. There was a designated chicken-handler on set, and everything.
Law and Order CI
John Coles, director.
Got to be a goth blood coven member in two scenes, one at a recreation of a real club I used to go to years ago, called The Bank on the Lower East Side. The other was on a set at Chelsea Piers of an old church, where I got to wear a floor length red velvet cape with a giant hood. Jeff Goldblum kept whispering to me "Don't Look Now."
Gotham, season 1, episode 12
Eagle Egilsson, director.
Taken by paparazzi on set. World of steamy smoke, shiny vinyl, and vats of hair spray.
Arthur
Jason Winer, director.
Filmed on location at the Nassau County Jail during a summer heatwave, we were sprayed with fake sweat between takes and sung "happy birthday" about 100 times to Russel Brand, who was melting in a rubber Batman suit. Sadly the scene did not make the final cut.
The Good Wife
Rosemary Rogriguez, director.
Here I am as an Occupy Wall Street protester, filmed almost entirely on cell-phone cameras to use in evidence shown in this court-room drama.
Boardwalk Empire
Brian Kirk, director.
A behind the scenes look at the incredible wardrobe, props and sets from this series. A mountain of meticulous detail in the room and outfit and you never got to see any of it in the final cut. That's showbiz!
We Need to Talk About Kevin
Lynne Ramsay, director.
This is definitely one of my favorite wardrobe scores yet. Check out that appliqué reindeer! Plus I got to hold a plastic plate of mashed layer cake for 6 hours in a Connecticut strip mall with Tilda Swinton. Clearly evidence of showbiz life at its finest.
Margin Call
J.C. Chandor, director.
Spent a full week dressed as a corporate day-trader, and nobody I knew recognized me. Looks like Zachary Quinto is giving me the side eye.
Blue Bloods: season 2
Alex Chapelle, director.
Meet the shortest NYPD cop ever... I got to slap cuffs on a “criminal” (who was very nice) and participate in pretend a mass arrest shot on the streets of NYC.
20.
The Sisters Plotz
Lisa Hammer, director.
Zany musical starring (left to right) Levi Wilson (Great Kills), Lisa Hammer (voice of Triana Orpheus in The Venture Brothers), Eve Plumb (Jan from the original Brady Bunch), and Lisa Ferber. One besotted butler and three eccentric heiresses. All singing, all dancing, and an honest-to-goodness pie-fight.
Only Murders in the Building, season 3 (multiple episodes)
John Hoffman, director (& others)
I got to share incredible sets with a beyond-my-wildest-dreams cast AND get my mug on the murder board.
Made some friends; I laughed, I cried. The usual.
